(COMEDY) Judge Joanie Carvell has some serious problems. Her TV courtroom series is losing markets around the country, and her ratings are slipping. A defendant she ruled against is stalking her. Things turns decidedly dark, nasty, and extremely hilarious for Judge Joanie. (starring Patty McCormack (The Bad Seed)

Charles Dennis’s short film ATWILL – shot entirely on an iPad – won the 2011 Samuel Fuller Guerrilla Filmmaker Award at the Buffalo International Film Festival. Dennis revived the lead character, Clive Atwill, for his own eponymous web series three years later. He recut Episode 5 to be a stand-alone, short film, JUDGE JOANIE.
In 1956 Patty McCormack became the first child actor to be nominated for an Academy Award for her chilling performance as Rhoda Penmark in THE BAD SEED. (Prior to that film, child actors were voted Special Oscars by the Academy.) She was also the first child serial killer in movies. Half a century later, Ms. McCormack is up to her old tricks again in JUDGE JOANIE. In fact, she admits that her final exit is an homage to THE BAD SEED.
